WHAT?: Wyclef Jean Running for President in Haiti

It's not exactly a shocker, however it is shocking. Haitian rap artist Wyclef Jean is now running for president of Haiti. He's always been a supporter of his own home country, especially during the devastator earthquake. Although his charity was clouded with rumors of fraud and such, I'm pretty sure his intentions will be perfectly clear on this one. This is what Wyclef had to say.

"I wanted to bring Santa Claus to the slums because these kids were poor but I didn't feel like they shouldn't have a Christmas, so I brought a carnival into the slum and I took a helicopter and I landed with my daughter and a Santa Claus right in the middle of Cité Soleil."

He was staying as he always does in Haiti in the Hotel Montana. Three weeks later, on 12 January, the entire building was reduced to rubble in the massive Haitian earthquake.

"We escaped death by a few weeks. So that's why I'm standing [for president]. Maybe I could have waited another 10 years for this, but this is urgent. Singing about policy is not enough. I've seen musicians sing about it all their life. I've taken the position to not only exercise what we are singing about, but to see if we could take five years to move this country into a better direction."

For some reason, this excites me more than do our own retarded politics. I think it's because this candidates is actually in a position to do something great for a broken country, and not only that, he most likely will, and mark his place in history. No homo.

MUSIC NEWS: KiD CuDi Changes Name of Upcoming Album

If I'm not mistaken, his sophomore album was previously planned to be named Cudder. He's leaked a couple of other details surrounding his album including what time he's aiming to release the album and more. Who the hell is Mr. Ranger?

WHY?

i started making this project like a collab album, filled with fun and upbeat records that for the most part left you with jack shit when you were finished listening. i took a step back, went on tour, and realized im where im at because of the type of songs i write. every time i read a comment from someone saying ive touched their lives in some way is what made me want to stop fucking around and continue pouring my life into my music. MOTM2 is dark by nature and instead of bringing you into my dreams like my first album, im bringing you into my reality. good and bad. it will explain more of who iam aswell as pushing the envelope musically. this project will focus on many dark, fun, and ignorant moments in my life since ive been kid cudi in a exciting and cinematic nature continuing the MOTM theme. this is my darkest work so far with a hint of fun and grooviness for those who like the classic chill cudi sound but elevated to another level. the things i cant speak will be the things i write. before anything else, you’d come to the conclusion i need a shrink, a stronger drug or a mentor. not a hug. a lot of you have read the news and think they know cudi, got some slick shit to say amongst your peers or just flat out hate me but you havnt the slightest clue of who iam. i will tell the story of Mr. Rager….

release: aiming for august

completed? almost, got upcoming sessions with RATATAT and Dot Da Genius on the production side. as far as features ill keep you posted but I DEF got Chip on 2 joints so far. cleveland maneeee

cudder fact: me and dot are a production duo, our first creation is on the new album.

MUSIC NEWS: T.I. Announces Next Album

T.I. has announced that his next album will be titled King Uncaged, jeez I wonder why? In case you didn't know, he recently finished his one year and one day prison sentence. Said album is slated for an August 24th release, but just remember these dates often change frequently. Often change frequently, is that grammatically correct?


And of course, the preceding mixtape that precedes many things, will be strangely titled Fuck A Mixtape. No word yet as to when that is being released, someone shed some light.

MUSIC NEWS: NEW Electrolightz Remix

It looks like the duo will continue with their Gaga infatuation and remix her I don't know what number single 'Alejandro' from her album the Fame Monster, seeing as it's already out as her third single in Sweedien? Anyways she recently tweeted "The single will be officially sent to radio on April 20, 2010 in the United States." So look out for that in a couple of days.
